Burke Family

Well, this thing will finally let me log in!

Nicholas had two hockey games this weekend.  He played really good in both game.  Saturday’s game they won 5-3.  Today they tied due to a crappy line change with 20 seconds left in the game.   Kevin and Jacob had soccer games yesterday and today.  Kevin scored a few goals and Jacob played goal for the first time.  Ben just had fun running around at the soccer field and the ice rink all weekend.

Well I am finally able to access hofer.us again!  

Nicholas had his first hockey game Saturday against St. Peter’s.  They won 4-1.  Nicholas is now a defenceman (the coach said because he is fast).  He had 4 end to end breakaways.  He hit the goal post once and the goalie stopped the other 3 shots.  He played really well for his first game with the BIG boys.  On Sunday Kevin had his first ever hockey game.  He played Southern Illinois.  They were getting creamed 15-1 when Kevin (also defence) got a breakaway skated end to end past everyone and shot and scored.  His first game and one goal!  He was so excited.  Nicholas told him that his favorite part of the game was his goal.  Monday I brought Jacob to the doctor because he has had an ear infection for 4 weeks.  The doctor said we need to put tubes in right away.  He had the surgery this morning(Friday).  The doctor ended up finding a polyp full of infection on his eardrum.  They had to surgically remove it. This is caused by a severe infection and it would have had to been removed even if he was not getting tubes.  They were still able to put the tubes in : ).   So hopefully in a couple of days he will be feeling better.  Ben is in to everything these days.  He loves to climb and hit Nicholas (that is because Nicholas laughs when he does it.)  He is now picking up hockey sticks, finding pucks and trying to shoot the puck.  It is pretty cute!
